Light is not very helpful it is in wrong place. This was going to be a stocking stuffer for my science boy, but it does not work. Cannot see anything. So glad I tried it out before Santa put it in the stocking. The low price should have been an indicator of quality, but I thought I would try it because of the good reviews. Not worth the shipping to send it back---it went in the trash.  -  Tuesday, December 04, 2007 Light in the wrong place Reviewed By: Marc Myers (Cleveland, Ohio) I was disappointed to find that the built-in light provides little illumination under the lens. To use the microscope effectively, I always need a separate light source. The need to hold a flashlight in one hand and the microscope in the other makes it impossible to draw pictures, take notes, or hold an object while looking at it.  -  Monday, March 30, 2009 Needed two more Reviewed By: Bonnie (Port Orange, Fl) I gave this item to my 10 year old grandson. He was busy with a new Video Game so his mom and aunt took over. Before the day was over, they both said I should have bought more than one. They passed it back and forth for over an hour. When the 'scope first arrived, I, too, felt it was a waste of money, but kept messing around with it until I found how great it really is.
