I have an 6 year old and a 8 year old and they loved it. It was unstable, so we carefully hot glued it to the base which didn't seem to effect the growth. I would recommend it. After it grows you have to be careful so it stays together, but it really lasts a long itme.  -  Thursday, December 27, 2007 a Lot of Fun Reviewed By: rcb (Kalispell, MT) We bought this based on positive reviews and are glad we did, but want to add that it's a little tedious to set up (adult male and 9 year old child who also assemble electronic gadgets) and one tree fell over twice because the tree base was not exactly level. That happened after it "grew" so the foliage mostly fell off (we sprinkled it back on the scene as a bush cherry hedge). So rectify any slight problems before pouring on the liquid, and set it somewhere where it will not have to be moved or might get bumped.
