It is impossible to sit or hang the prism without someone constantly taking it down and looking through it and just playing with it. It has a pleasing green translucent hue and no sharp edges. It is smooth to the touch and satisfying to hold and peer into. All from a chunk of glass. - Friday, May 25, 2007DECK PRISM Reviewed By: SCOTT MCGEE (DALEVILLE, MS) UNIQUE, COOL, A PIECE OF HISTORY. - Tuesday, May 29, 2007Great for home or classroom! Reviewed By: Karen (Middletown, CT) We've been to Mystic seaport and been on the Morgan, so my kids were especially interested in this. In the classroom, I set this up in a center, with a notebook to ask questions and record speculations. I started with why is the prism better than having just a hole? Other questions that came up: How many prisms did they use on a ship? Did all ships use them? Did they come in diffrent sizes and shapes? The kids loved this! - Sunday, November 11, 2007Tantalizing Reviewed By: Jon Buchanan (Jefferson City, MO) As an engineer, very few things appeal to me unless they are very useful. This is one of the exceptions. I had the desire just to possess it, so I ordered one. It is very satisfying just to pick it up and hold it for while. - Wednesday, November 28, 2007Wonderful Reviewed By: Kate (Alturas, CA) What a wonderful reproduction of a very ingenous peice of history. When ever someone sees it, they can't resist picking it up and try to figure out just exactly what it is. Absolutely beautiful when the sun hits it. |
