The description didn't explicitly state that it was NOT the night sky - Monday, October 05, 2009We Returned the item Reviewed By: M Jackson (Ringgold, GA) We were excited to purchase and obtain the Laser Star Showers. It worked right from the box and projected on the evening ceiling of our girl's bedroom - however, the projection is very geometric, predictable, and has no variance control. Instead of stars, it does look like a biology display of wiggling green organisms. It was too bright. The blue cloud effect is outstanding but overwhelming - it does have a variable control. Another clue, 45 day warranty - we've read reports of it doing fine for 2 years and others after 90 days crashing. We shipped it back for a refund due to Edmund Scientific's "must be pleased" 30 day policy on returns -we therefore will buy with ease from this company knowing that there is a safety net. Try it and see if it works for you - if not - simply return it. - Wednesday, January 16, 2008Wait until it goes on clearance! Reviewed By: Nicole Sica (New Orleans, LA) Sadly, I found the machine a little disappointing. Yes, it is noisy, made of a somewhat cheap plastic & produces too much heat--but for me, It is difficult to adjust, the movement is unrealistic and the stars are far too green. My kids are young, though, and love it, so it stays. I wish I had waited for it to go on clearance, however. - Wednesday, October 17, 2007has some problems Reviewed By: sandy (santa rosa, ca) I am a little disappointed, it does make noise and after leaving it on for 10 minutes some of the stars that were moving no longer move, it is past it's warrenty so I can't return it. I would not recommend this - Tuesday, August 28, 2007Cool - But Hot and Noisy Reviewed By: Jeff (West Hollywood, CA) I was excited by the display. Lots of bright green stars of various sizes tracking in all directions over the ceiling. But the fan noise is somewhat annoying. And if you leave this on for long, you will need some way to cool the air down. It puts out a lot of heat. The stars move a bit more franticly than I would wish, but it does create the illusion. |
