I am using one to turn a homemade baby mobile and it is reliable and exactly as the specs listed. - Friday, June 05, 2009Gottlieb Blackhole Reviewed By: Pete (Esko, MN) This motor worked perfectly in my Gottlieb blackhole. No cutting or fabing needed. - Monday, July 21, 2008High Torque Motors Reviewed By: James (Palmdale, CA) Have ordered and used this item and other RPM models and all work well. They stay very cool to touch, and are very accurate for the RPM listed. Would recommend this to others. - Thursday, August 06, 2009not as is it specified Reviewed By: Rainer (New York, New York) If you are looking for a really accurate motor, this is not the one. I bought two 1-rpm motors with the same disappointing result. Afterwards, I realized that as any DC motor, the speed is proportional to the DC voltage. In order to obtain a really accurate speed, I needed to build a voltage regulator (LM317) with variable resistances so I could trim precisely the DC voltage (something that could in the future be included with the motor), since nominal voltages in AC-DC transformers are also not very accurate. Once achieved, the speed is pretty stable. On the other hand, as quiet as it is advertised?….not the case, even with plastic gearing. I bought this motor in order to replace a 15 year old 1-rpm AC motor (used year around in a clock). Truth is that that old beggar is more accurate and silent than the one advertised in this page. I'm giving it a mark 2, for the effort |
