I found it to be well made, not flimsy and thin-walled like most off the shelf toys. Great shooting action. Keep 3 kids in "commando mode" for hours. Only drawback, must use harder stale dry marshmallows. One of ours got sticky in the loading tube. carefully rinse with warm water to remove marshmallow, then rinse with dri- gas or a high percentage alcohol to remove water, genrly blowdry on low with a hair dryer being cafeful not to heat he plastic too much. Still this is a minor problem for a well built toy that will last many hours. I do not know why it says for ages 12+.
