Explore any number of scientific principles with a series of fun and engaging experiments. Each Young Scientists Club Kit includes materials and instructions for performing experiments based on the kit’s three themes of science. From recycling to volcanoes to bacteria to electricity and owls, you are bound to learn more about the world of science that surrounds us. Set #1 (30820-43)
Containing Kits 1, 2 and 3 - Begin your young scientist's journey with these kits.
Kit One: Recycling
Young Scientists are introduced to the 3R's (reduce, reuse, and recycle) by making mini-composters and different kinds of paper from old paper to use as labels on recycling ins. These creative and fun experiments are a great introduction to the world of science. Kit Two: Scientific Measurements
Young Scientists learn about the importance of the metric system by measuring and graphing expanding foam capsules, melting ice towers, and growing beans and wheat seeds.
Kit Three: Magnets
A great introduction to the science of magnetism. Young Scientists make magnets dance and "magically" move cars while learning about attraction versus repulsion, North versus South poles, and magnetic materials versus non-magnetic materials. Young Scientists finish the kit by making their own compass.

I bought this kit to introduce my young daughters to science, and I had high expectations.
The idea is sound, however the kits are extremely Spartan and the experiments have not been fully thought out on a practical level (theoretically, they should work).
It is really a shame, as I was expecting much more. - Saturday, January 12, 2008 tons of fun! Reviewed By: Carol (Idaho Falls , Idaho) My kids have really enjoyed these kits! I homeschool 3 kids ~ grades 4,5, & 7 ~ and there is something for everyone! I especially enjoy the why's & wherefore's included with each experiment, for the older kids, and the "science bug dude" paper included for the younger ones. This enables the younger children to lead an experiment as well. Kits can generally be re-filled, and done again and again. It is well worth it, as there are at least 3 complete kits within each box. And, there is enough for at least 3 to 4 kids (most about 5 or 6) to perform the experiments. All experiments can easily be merged with standards-based curriculum, or stand alone. We LOVE them, & have bought all 12 sets! Read More Reviews
