Look Up and See
Reviewed By:
Kathleen Wentworth (Syracuse, New York)
I am a 5th grade teacher in the Syracuse City School District. It was always a challenge to decide on a graduation gift for my class. I had to consider price and usefulness of the gift. The Star and Planet Locator solved all my problems. It is an excellent gift to get students and their families excited about Astronomy. They are easy to use and come with a book that explains some basic Astronomy in easy terms. I have always ordered extra to give to family and friends. It makes star gazing an enjoyable activity for everyone.

Best Deal In Astronomy
Reviewed By:
Jim McDade (Vestavia Hills, AL)
I purchased my first Edmund Scientific's Star and Planet Locator at the W.A. Gayle Planetarium gift shop in Montgomery, Al in 1968! That was the best astronomical investment that I ever made. I was just 14 years-old at the time. We were quite poor, and the Star and Planet Locator was about the only thing I could afford to purchase after my first trip to the planetarium.
That Star and Planet Locator sparked a lifelong passion for sighting planets, stars, and galaxies.
I have since worked at that very planetarium in addition to working as a volunteer astronomy editor at Space.com. I am 53 years-old now and the night sky is the only constant life companion that pretty much stays unchanged over the course of a human lifespan.
Thanks to Edmund and George Lovi for helping me to learn the names and locations of our stellar companions. The Star and Planet Locator helped me to retain what I saw and heard in the planetarium by allowing me to take a handy guide to the night sky into our backyard.
