I bought these rock and mineral trading cards for a very bright nine-year old who is avidly interested in rocks, but I wound up returning them because the information on the backs is so technical. I have a college degree, but was not eager to wade through the backs of these cards, which provide chemical formulas and Latin names, etc. The pictures on the fronts of the cards were okay, but not as bright and sharp and you might see in a photograph in a book. All in all these cards seem more appropriate for college age or older -- which is really too bad, because what I had imagined they would be would really have delighted the little boy I bought them for!
