The electronic thermometer is great for field testing streams and sun baked soil. Very compact shirt pocket instrument.

not good for high temps

Watch it! If you plan to immerse tip in a hot steaming fluid this thermometer will fog out and eventually quit on you. If you are lucky, it might work again once its electronics cool down. I am going back to old trusty partial immersion Hg thermometers: batteries not required.
