Nice little demo steam engine
Reviewed By:
Bobodobo (Los Angeles, California)
This engine is relatively easy to assemble and run. The kids love watching it, though they always have to learn the hard way that the boiler is hot!
The engine runs reasonably well, but even fully tightened several of the steam connections leak. Also the whistle it a bit difficult to turn on and off without burning yourself - a longer handle would be useful. And the cylinder spits out a lot of hot water and steam. Really they're just small problems but prevent me from giving it a 5-star rating.

I ordered the kit type and i had no problems with leaks. Just make sure to screw the piston on tight enough! I did not screw it in tight because I was afraid there would be to much friction and it came off and sprayed boiling water and steam all over me! It is a great model and is well machined. but as another reviewer mentioned the smoke stack wont stay on. But it is just for looks and does not rely mater. I would get it if i were you, it is a nice engine.

Jensen Steam Engine
Reviewed By:

I bought the pre-assembled model and had no problem with leaks. I had a Jensen steam engine as a kid in the 60's: same high quality build. My only complaint is that the smoke stack (a non-fuctional part) won't stay on. The engine itself runs quite well if you keep the piston properly lubricated.
