It is battery-operated, you need to buy a DC converter to plug it in. Even if the projector worked, don't count on being able to see it in the middle of the night. You need to reach over and touch the (unstable) little clock to turn the projector on for 2 seconds. There's no way to have it project continuously or for longer than 2 seconds at a time.
