Peridot is synonymous with the color of Spring---fresh lime green! It is the gem form of the mineral olivine and is formed deep beneath the earth’s crust under tremendous heat and pressure.

Peridot is treasured in Hawaii as the goddess Pele’s tears, and may even be found in small sand-size grains on some beaches in Oahu.

It is the birthstone for August and is credited by ancients for a host of magical powers and healing properties.
