Septarian Nodule Polished Slab
(Select Quantity Below)

|
Unlock the mystery of septarian nodules, balls containing angular cavities or cracks called septaria. The actual nodules began their life as sedimentary slime at the bottom of a Cretaceous Sea in Utah 65 to 70 million years ago.
This sediment formed into balls (concretions) with the septaria filling in with dark brown and yellow calcite. The process or processes that created these septaria remains an unresolved mystery, but there is no denying their dramatic beauty and ultimate fascination for the collector.
Each unique sawn concretion slab is polished on one side, measuring 1/2" thick, roughly 5-6" in diameter. Includes an acrylic display stand.
