Treasures from the Past
Trilobites are extinct arthropods. They are highly prized by collectors and are possibly the second-most famous fossil group after the dinosaurs.
Because of their diversity, moulting and an easily fossilized exoskeleton, they left an extensive fossil record between 600 and 350 million years ago. Different trilobites made their living in different ways. Some lived on the sea floor as predators or scavengers and others swam and fed on plankton.
These small, complete, and well-preserved trilobites, called Proetus, were found in the mountains of Morocco, but are also distributed in many other parts of the world.
Each specimen averages 1" in length and is displayed in matrix averaging 2" x 2". Acrylic display stand included.
