Nautiloids are a group of marine molluscs that possess a chambered external shell. They flourished during the early Paleozoic era, about 400-500 million years ago, where they constituted the main predatory animals. Some 2,500 species of fossil nautiloids are known, but only a handful of species survive today.
These straight-shelled examples of Geisenoceras from Morocco are beautifully polished to show off their inner chambers and structures.
Sold in a package of five, each unique piece averages 1 1/2" to 2" in length.
