Treasures of the Past
Fossil Echinoids are small spiny sea creatures found in oceans all over the world. The Clypeus is the genus name for the echinoid or more specifically, an 'irregular echinoid'.
These Clypeus from Madagascar, are 150 million years old and probably lived in the oceans at the same time as the dinosaurs were roaming on land.
Their fossilized shells average 2" to 4" in diameter and have been highly polished to show excellent detail. Complete with acrylic display stand.
