Multi-Colored Glass Galileo Thermometers

Galileo discovered centuries ago that a liquid's density varies with temperature.

These works of scientific art contain colored glass temperature indicator spheres calibrated to within a fraction of a gram to measure indoor temperature accurately.

The balls float in a clear liquid, changing position with fluctuations in temperature. The lowest floating sphere indicates the current temperature. We offer four different models, ranging in size from 11" to an impressive 24".

Looks Great

Not accurate but if you wanted accuracy you would not want this any ways. Looks great on my desk...Each bulb has a marker for every 2 to 4 degrees depending which size you get and the reading is + or - 2 degrees from that number on the marker. Its your guess as to the real temp from there. Looks great though!

Galileo would be disappointed.

The good news is that the 14-inch model I ordered turned out to be 16 inches tall, and very handsome. The bad news is that it registered over 8 degrees high. These are not scientific instruments, but they should be accurate to within the 4-degree spread between floats. Made in China, of course.
