Excellently conceived and designed instrument. I enjoy using it. The instruction booklet is designed for a teacher's use, but it shows sloppy editing. It is incomplete from the viewpoint of an individiual interested in science. My instrument arrived with a flaw in assembly that I was able to repair myself. Better quality control needed.

This spectroscope is easy to use and makes the basics of spectroscopy accessible to elementary and middle school students. We purchased it about 10 years ago, and have used it on occassion for explaining about atomic theory, light, chemistry, and energy with our robotics team and other students. It is durable and because it is easy to use, the children understand what they are doing. Also recommend the prism you can fill with different liquids - it makes a big rainbow.
