How does the Kill-A-Watt EZ differ from the Kill-A-Watt?
The Kill A Watt measures the energy consumption in terms of wattage. It
tells you how many watts an electronic device is using. The EZ goes one
step further, it is menu driven and gives you the ability to plug in
the rate your utility company charges you per watt, and calculates the
total cost it to run that appliance.

Unfortunately the thing apparently reads usage BEFORE it's own circuitry, not after, so that all of these low draw items usage is distorted by the current drawn by the monitor. At my local rate, it costs 42-cents a year even without anything plugged in! Maybe not a big deal, but it seems it could have been just as easy to design around this. It would also be nice to be able to set the 'resolution' of the readout (more decimal places, less whole numbers when reading certain functions). Maybe next time, they'll really nail it.
