Don't buy this!!!!

I purchased this as a fun project for the family. It was rated as a top toy for 2009! For a toy listed as for children 8 and up my wife and I could not get it to work even after multiple reviews of the instructions and we both have scientific degrees. It is a cool idea but in practice is incredibly frustrating. I've had much better luck with these in the past. This toy is super cool in theory but is THE HARDEST construction problem of any product I've ever encountered. It was a waste of a day of effort.

Fun with son

My son built Marble Mania Genius from start to finish. Only a few minor errors prevented him from finishing without help. We have all the other Marble Mania products and this helps to understand what to do when something goes wrong. My suggestion is to start with the Apprentice version first and built up to Genius.

Really Cool!

It took quiet a while to get it together, and there were some errors in the directions, but once the quirks were fixed it works magnificently! This toy is definitely meant for those with critical thinking skills and patience, but overall, it is very cool and my son loves it. I think the entire family will be playing with it for years to come, creating new marble mania constructions.
