Educate and Entertain Through Competition

Developed through a partnership with Brookhaven National Laboratory, this activity in bridge building offers you the opportunity to apply physics concepts to construction in a contest setting.

Using the kit materials and instructions, you create a variety of different bridges, including beam, truss, and arch styles.

With each build, you learn about the forces and stresses your creations must endure and develop a greater understanding of structural integrity and the physics of bridge construction.

The added motivation of a national competition encourages thorough research and design for the most structurally sound bridges.
