Using the almost magical qualities of hydraulics, this model is fun to make and use.
Use pre-cut pieces and glue to assemble a working model that uses the same principles as the actual machine. Instead of using very messy hydraulic fluid, this model uses water.
Once made, this Platform Lifter provides an excellent example of how we use technology to move people and materials around.
This can be a great jumping off point for learning about simple machines, levers and hydraulics.
Stands 22 cm high when completed.
Recommended ages 8 and up.
