The Conservation of Motion Re-imagined
Newton’s Cradle is a device that demonstrates conservation of momentum and energy. Pull back 1 or more of the balls and let them drop down. The same number of balls will swing up on the opposite side and the clicking will go back and forth until it stops.
This modern chrome design measures approx. 7.25” tall with five 0.75″ (19 mm) steel balls.
Interesting Fact:
Because it uses Newton’s Laws, it was named after Sir Isaac Newton, English physicist, mathematician and astronomer, but was actually "invented" (brought into commercial application) in 1967 by English actor Simon Prebble.
