Delivery

Items are shipped from stock, assuring fast delivery to you. We use a variety of delivery services including FedEx, UPS and USPS Postal Service. If an item is temporarily out of stock, you will receive a back order notice via e-mail. The balance of your order will be shipped promptly.

Standard Ground Shipping Transit Times for Delivery

Depending where in the country you are shipping to in relation to our warehouse in New York, it will take up to 7 days to be delivered to the shipping address. Please refer to the map below to see if you could still choose Standard Ground Shipping. 1 Day Delivery

For all orders shipped in the continental US. Express orders must be received online by 3 PM EST or by phone by 3 PM EST to be shipped on the same day (2-day and overnight). There is no weekend delivery. Please note that express shipping begins at the point when Scientifics Direct processes your order and not at the time that it is placed online. Shipping time may vary, as it is subject to product availability and payment processing/credit approval periods.

Exchanges & Returns

We stand behind our commitment to provide you with quality products. Our Guarantee entitles you to receive an exchange, replacement or refund for the full merchandise amount (less any appropriate shipping charges) within 30 days provided the item is in unopened, resalable condition. A return merchandise authorization (RMA) number needs to be obtained from our Customer Service Department prior to sending your order back to us. Without this number we will not accept your package and it will be returned to you. Any approved refunds on opened, used (or partially assembled) within 30 days of purchase may be subject to a 20% re-stocking fee. This includes all opened food-related products, ie. DIY kitchen kits with edible ingredients as well as all kitchen appliances (for example ice cream makers or slushie machines).

Warranty Information

Scientifics brand microscopes, telescopes, binoculars and magnifiers have a five year manufacturer's limited warranty. Manufacturer's warranty information is available by contacting our Customer Service Department at 1-800-728-6999.

Celestron brand microscopes, telescopes, binoculars and magnifiers come with 2-year limited warranties through the manufacturer. Celestron technical support can be reached at 1-800-421-9649.

For all other products, the Manufacturer's warranty applies. Warranty Information is available by contacting our Customer Service Department at 1-800-728-6999.

Damaged Products

If your package arrives damaged, immediately notify the carrier's local office. They will pick it up and return it to Scientifics at no expense to you.

How to Return or Exchange Items:

  1. CALL 1-800-728-6999 for a Return Authorization Number
  2. ALL ITEMS MUST BE IN THE ORIGINAL MANUFACTURER'S BOX which must be in new, unmarked condition. ES will not accept returned merchandise that displays use or misuse or is not in its original manufacturer's box. Instructions and warranty card must be included.
  3. Complete the Merchandise Return Form and return it with the merchandise.
  4. Place item and return form into a shipping carton and tape the box securely.
  5. Return box to:

  6. Contact Parcel Post or UPS and return package PREPAID.
  7. Sorry, shipping charges are not refundable.

Repair or Defective Items

If an item is defective and you are returning it within 30 days, please send back the entire product, not just the defective part. After the 30-day trial period, consult the warranty instructions enclosed with the item. These returns must be made to the manufacturer. All SCIENTIFICS DIRECT warrantied products are to be returned to:

Note: Scientifics no longer stocks any of the required replacement parts or necessary tools for the repair and maintenance of the Astroscan® telescope. The 5-year warranty on the final production run of the original Astroscan® expired back in 2017. We recommend you try contacting your local science museum to inquire whether they are affiliated with an astronomy club and, if so, how to contact them. Those seeking telescope repairs may find that organizers of astronomy clubs are able to put you in contact with members who can provide telescope repair, maintenance, and collimation services.

Policies

Customer must be 18 years or older to purchase from Scientifics Direct. By placing an order with SCIENTIFICS DIRECT, you acknowledge and agree that you are 18 years or older and legally capable of entering into contracts.

We reserve the right to limit quantities purchased on any and all products.

Ordering Live Ants

Live Ants are not included with the purchase of our Illuminated Ant Habitat. SCIENTIFICS DIRECT does not provide fulfillment for live insects. This is handled through a third party supplier. A coupon is included with the shipment of each Illuminated Ant Habitat for the redemption of 30 live ants.

Please allow 2 weeks for delivery. Ants are shipped when weather permits (32 to 85° F), via US Postal Service, and only within the continental United States (cannot ship to Hawaii).
